It has been announced that further strikes will take place at the Port of Felixstowe from 07:00 27th September to 06:59 5th October.
In the aftermath of the exhausted strike action in which the port and Unite couldn’t reach an agreement it appears Unite will again take industrial action against the port, despite the port implementing a 7% pay award back dated to Jan 2022 and a one off £500.00 payment.
You can read the official statement from the port here or see what Reuters have to say here.
At this stage it is unclear how shipping lines will mitigate the problems this time around, as ports such as DP World Southampton who have previously acted as refuge for Felixstowe bound vessel are themselves severely congested. However we will continue to monitor the situation and feed back information through your Key Account managers once available.
